Christian Halquist

Environmental Scientist

What I do at Triterra:
I primarily work in the Natural Resource Department and also provide support to the Multi-Family Housing team at Triterra. In the field, I conduct routine wetland delineations and collect water and soil samples from contaminated sites. In the office, I focus on preparing Threatened and Endangered Species Assessments and Phase II reports based on the samples collected from the field.

Why I love it here:
I love the culture and their desire to grow as a company, as well as Triterra’s ability to produce creative solutions to improve the ecosystem that we live in.

Background and Education:
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife in 2021 from Michigan State University, specializing in fish biology and management. During my studies and in the years following graduation, I engaged in invasive plant management for four years, where I developed valuable expertise in fieldwork and understanding human dimensions related to environmental conservation.

What I love to do when I’m not at Triterra:
When I’m not at work, you’ll probably find me knee-deep in a river trying to catch some steelhead or salmon. If it’s a sunny day, I might be out on the golf course! I also really enjoy hiking or spending time at the lake with my wife and our two dogs.
