Erik Eikey
Industrial Hygienist
What I do at Triterra:
I am a member of the Industrial Hygiene group here at Triterra. I conduct hazardous material surveys to identify the presence of asbestos, lead, and mold within building materials. I conduct on-site air monitoring during asbestos abatement jobs to ensure worker safety and ensure that rules and regulations are being followed.
Why I love it here:
The people here are great and are incredibly welcoming. It feels like a workplace where everyone is rowing in the same direction and ensuring each other’s success.
Background and Education:
I have over 5 years of experience working in all aspects of Industrial Hygiene. I have worked as a laboratory manager for a Polarized Light Microcopy laboratory, conducted air monitoring and project oversite for various asbestos and mold projects, conducted hazardous material surveys, and conducted testing for hazardous airborne analytes within various manufacturing facilities. I also have over a year of experience conducting fieldwork and report creation for Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments. I attended Michigan State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Geology.
What I love to do when I’m not at Triterra:
I love to fish, hike, play video games, watch sports, and the thing I love most is hanging out with my main guy Nelson (my dog). If it is a Sunday in the fall around 1 pm, you can find me sitting on my couch, emotionally unhinged watching my beloved Detroit Lions.
