Garek Hund
Environmental Scientist
What I do at Triterra:
I work with both the Investigation and Remediation and Natural Resources teams at Triterra. My responsibilities include collecting soil, gas, and groundwater samples in the field, as well as analyzing data from the samples we collect to assess, report, and eliminate environmental contamination for our clients. In the warmer months, I help with wetland delineations.
Why I love it here:
I enjoy using problem-solving skills and critical thinking to solve environmental issues with a team that shares my passion for creating positive change in the communities and ecosystems on which we depend.
Background and Education:
My love for the extensive biodiversity of our planet greatly inspired me to pursue a career in environmental science and conservation. I attained my bachelor’s degree in Zoology in December 2022, with majors in Marine Biology and Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology, as well as a minor in Marine Ecosystem Management.
What I love to do when I’m not at Triterra:
My hobbies include observing nature and hiking with my girlfriend, staying active in the gym or outdoors with casual sports, and relaxing and playing video games with my friends and family.
