J.P. Buckingham, CPG
Chief Culture Officer (CCO)
What I do at Triterra:
As the Chief Cultural Officer, my responsibilities consist of shaping and maintaining a positive work environment, aligning company values with business goals, enhancing employee engagement and motivation, attracting and retaining top talent and monitoring workplace morale and ensuring strong internal communication. I also enjoy collaborating with property owners, lenders, developers, construction firms, real estate agents, attorneys, and communities to address environmental challenges related to property acquisition and development. I also help individuals and businesses navigate the high costs of redevelopment by identifying and connecting them with financial incentives and potential investors.
Why I love it here:
I love the people! The freedom to be who I want to be.
Background and Education:
I live on a family farm that has been in my family over 150 years in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. We raised black angus cattle and grew wheat, corn, and soybeans. I remember I could not wait to leave the farm and go off to college. After spending four years in Holland Michigan I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Hope College. Go Dutch! Next thing I know I could not wait to come home to the farm. Which is where I currently live. I also managed to find a wife that would live with me in the country. God bless her!
What I love to do when I’m not at Triterra:
I enjoy spending time with my family. Our kids keep us busy with sporting events. When we find time, we enjoy golfing and traveling.
