Mariah Bennett
Senior Geologist
What I do at Triterra:
In the Brownfield group, I help manage the economic development projects that utilize state and federal incentive programs. From creating budgets and writing work plans to collaborating with the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), I support developers in creating and updating infrastructure while prioritizing a safe and healthy work environment.
Why I love it here:
Triterra is like a second home. You can always count on someone to be there.
Background and Education:
With 7 years in the industry, I have an extensive background in Part 201 and Part 213 geological fieldwork, including sample acquisition and subsequent analysis. My experience includes soil and groundwater investigation and remediation, project management, scope-of-work and budget preparation, soil vapor investigations, development of conceptual site models, human health risk assessments, and hydrogeological investigations. I have a B.S. in Geological Sciences with a Geographic Information Systems certificate from Michigan State University.
What I love to do when I’m not at Triterra:
With moving to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula in 2025, most of my free time is spent on a mountain bike. I am a proud team member of the Blackrocks Racing team and help spread the stoke of cycling, sportsmanship, and a healthy lifestyle within our community. I also volunteer as a mountain bike coach for young girls in Marquette County. I enjoy hiking, camping, and riding the trails with my husband, son, and two dogs, and knitting warm sweaters for our long winters!
